Q: How does a spray tan work?
A: Spray tan solutions contain dihydroxyacetone (DHA). It’s colourless - not a dye or paint - and reacts with the amino acids in the outer layer of your skin to create a natural tan. Your tan fades as your skin naturally sheds, so exfoliating before your appointment is important for even results.

Q: What spray tan brands do you use?
A: Our go-to brand is Black Magic Tan, trusted for years. By popular demand, we also stock MineTan to give clients more options.

Q: How do I prepare for my spray tan?
A: Clean, hydrated skin is key:

• Exfoliate 24 hours before.

• Hydrate by drinking plenty of water.

• Moisturise in the days prior; lightly on very dry spots on the day.

• Wax at least 48 hours before.

• Arrive clean and product-free — no makeup, deodorant, or perfume.

• Eyebrow tinting should be done at least 24 hours before facial tanning to avoid orange brows.
  
  

Q: What should I wear during and after my spray tan?
A:  During: Your own underwear or a disposable G-string works. You can wear a bra with tucked straps, togs, or go topless.

 After: Loose, dark clothing is best — flowing dresses, loose pants, PJs, or a dressing gown. Avoid tight underwear or bras to prevent marks.

Q: What is the process when I arrive?
A: You’ll be greeted at the door and shown to the tanning room which is located on your left just as you enter the front door. We’ll discuss how dark you’d like to go, your tanning history, and whether you prefer a rapid tan or overnight solution. You’ll be shown disposables, a place for your belongings, and then left to undress in private.

The process:

Q: How long does my spray tan take to develop?
A: Development time depends on the solution and your preference—30mins to overnight before rinsing the bronzer off. 

Your tan will be fully developed 48 hours after spraying.

Q: How long will my spray tan last?
A: With proper prep and aftercare, your tan should last 7–10 days. You can extend it with Tan Xtend, a moisturiser with DHA.

Q: How do I care for my new spray tan?
A:

• Avoid water until ready to rinse off bronzer.

• Shower carefully with warm water—no soap, shampoo, or body wash.

• Dry gently by patting your skin.

• Avoid exfoliating until you remove the tan

• Moisturise morning and night to keep your skin hydrated and tan smooth.
  
  

Q: Can I exercise after my spray tan?
A: Wait until your tan is fully developed (up to 48 hours) to exercise, as sweating can affect development.

Q: I’m breastfeeding. Can I get a spray tan?
A: Yes! We recommend covering your breasts—bra with tucked straps, breast pads, or nipple covers (we have these in stock) 

Q: Am I protected from the sun?
A: No, spray tans do not contain SPF. Always use sun protection when outdoors.

Q: Can I swim or use a hot tub?
A: Yes! But chlorine and hot water act as exfoliation, which may shorten your tan’s lifespan.

Q: How many days before an event should I book?
A: We recommend 2 days prior so your tan is at its darkest. For holidays, booking the day before you leave is ideal.

Q: How long does an appointment take?
A: Appointments take around 20 minutes. Please use the toilet beforehand. If you arrive early, wait in your car and do not knock on the door until your appointment time, as I am a solo operator and may be with another client. Early arrivals may need to wait outside, as we do not have a waiting area. 

Q: Will the spray tan stain my bedding or clothes?
A: Any bronzer transfer washes out. If sleeping in your solution, wear PJs to avoid orange hands or marks.

Q: Do you spray tan males?
A: Yes! Males should leave their underwear on; G-strings are welcome. We do not provide disposable G-strings for males.

Q: Do you have off-street parking?
A: Yes! Park up the driveway in front of the gate. If it’s raining, the gate will be open. Please only drive up if confident reversing back out—avoid grass or complicated turns.

Q: Can I bring my children or friends?
A: Children are welcome; they can watch or play with my own children. Friends are welcome one at a time due to the small size of the tanning room.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: Cash or bank transfer only. Payment is required before or during your appointment.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: We appreciate as much notice as possible. Multiple no-shows or last-minute cancellations may require a 50% deposit when rebooking.

Q: Why are my armpits green?
A: This is caused by a reaction between your deodorant and the tanning solution. Usually, it washes off in the shower, but a small amount of gentle soap may help if needed.

Q: Do you offer a loyalty system?
A: Yes! If a concession card isn’t for you, your 5th tan is half price and your 10th tan is FREE. There’s no expiry, and we track it for you. We have had this system in place since day 1, it's our way of saying "thanks!"
